——Airway Management Simulators

Simulation is the ideal method for replicating clinical situation and contributes to improve patient care by enhancing proficiency of practitioners. VBM has developed a wide range of skill-trainers and mannequins with the highest possible fidelity to train different airway procedures.

Bill III

The Bill III simulator can be used to practice and simulate airway management techniques:

  • Mask ventilation
  • Supraglottic airway insertion
  • Tracheal intubation
  • Fibreoptic bronchoscopy (if bronchial tree is connected)
  • Fibreoptic intubation
  • Video laryngoscopy

The inflatable tongue is used to simulate a difficult airway.

The AirwayView demonstrates visual placement and positioning of the LT®evo including gastric tube insertion and passage of a tracheal tube through the LT®evo.

——eFONA Trainer

eFONA Trainer

All anaesthetists should be trained to perform a surgical airway. Training should be repeated at regular intervals to ensure skill retention (1).

VBM developed the eFONA Trainer which is an anatomical representation of an adult neck that mimics real anatomy. The folding and locking mechanism hold the skin snugly in place and allow quick replacement of accessory parts. Learners can take a turn and perform multiple cricothyrotomies. A Fat Pad can be added under the skin to mimic subcutaneous fat or swelling.

The chin is moveable to train cricothyrotomy under difficult conditions.

Folding and locking mechanism for quick and easy replacement/movement of the skin.

Insertion of a fat pad to mimic subcutaneous fat or swelling.

eFONA Trainer Animal

The eFONA Trainer Animal enables training of cricothyrotomy under realistic anatomical conditions through the use of an animal trachea.

The trainer can be washed in tap water and disinfected with hand wipe in case that fake blood or animal tracheas are used.

The trachea is fixed to the trainer by needle pins.

The artificial skin is then secured over the trachea via the folding and locking mechanism.
