With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our founder, Volker Bertram, on July 26, 2026.

We have lost a visionary entrepreneur whose dedication and leadership shaped our company for generations.
Driven by courage, determination, and a pioneering spirit, he founded the company in the 1980s and transformed
his vision of improving and saving lives through innovative medical technology into reality. Through his unwavering commitment and human leadership, he laid the foundation for what has grown into an internationally respected
medical technology company with more than four decades of success. Despite his global mindset, he always
remained deeply connected to his hometown, combining an international outlook with a genuine appreciation
for his roots.

Even after stepping back from day-to-day operations, Volker Bertram remained an integral part of the company.
He continued to offer advice and support, shared his extensive expertise, and remained passionate about
the well-being of both the company and its people. His knowledge, generosity, and unmistakable personality
left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of working with him.

We are deeply thankful for the opportunity to have contributed to his life‘s mission. His values and his vision
will continue to guide us as we shape the future of the company in his memory.
